VR 360° Time Travel

360° Time Travel brings a past festival moment back to life in the very place where it originally happened. Footage from the Lucid Dreams Festival 2023, captured with an Insta360 Pro, was turned into an immersive 360° film. The viewer wakes up and suddenly finds themselves in the middle of the festival. What they experience is intentionally left open: Is it a dream within a dream, a glimpse of the future, or a fading memory from the past?

At the Lucid Dreams Festival 2024, the film was presented in the VR station “360° Cinema”, positioned exactly where the original footage had been recorded. Through the 360° format, visitors could freely look around, turn in any direction, and experience the space from their own point of view. This created a playful connection between place and time: physically present at the 2024 festival, visitors could simultaneously experience the same location as it appeared in 2023 — a small journey between now and then.
