AR Time Layers
Athen, Greece
2025
AR Graphic at Kerameikos makes historical layers visible directly at the original site. Along a section of the Themistoclean Wall in Kerameikos, the different construction phases were digitally overlaid onto the physical remains. Instead of mentally transferring the diagram from the nearby information panel onto the wall, visitors could see the historical layers directly in their actual positions, making the development of the structure easier to understand.
Athen, Greece, 2025
As part of the workshop “U(A)RBAN TOPOLOGIES OF ATHENS”, another AR project was developed at Kerameikos together with several collaborators. Since parts of the archaeological site follow routes that were already used in ancient Athens, we created a digital timeline of the place.
Using Adobe Aero, graphics and information panels were placed along the path in Augmented Reality. Visitors could show or hide individual elements, allowing them to explore the content at their own pace.
The journey begins with a graphic representation of Themistocles, continues through the Athenian guard, and ends in the present with our workshop. I was responsible for the graphic design and the implementation of the AR experience.
